IT'S ALL WE DO. FOR OVER 75 YEARS.

THE MONROE STORY.

Monroe's early success with important and time sensitive projects impressed the War Production Board enough for Monroe to be awarded their highest classification of "Critical and Vital" during World War II.

At the beginning of 1944 Monroe was given the instructions to build three very large bomb racks. The racks would cradle only one bomb and its mammoth size would fill the entire bomb bay of America's largest bombers. Their importance was confirmed by a colonel who visited daily to oversee the speedy and serious construction.

The bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August 1945 confirmed Monroe's abilities  and changed history.

THE STORY CONTINUES, 2018.

In 2011 a giant tsunami smashed into the Japanese mainland near Tokyo causing the meltdown of three nuclear reactors at the Fukushima Daiichi Power Plant.  Extreme radiation has severely slowed cleanup efforts. This humanitarian and environmental disaster could take forty years to cleanup.

Partnering with a new customer, Monroe is producing specialized assemblies for humanoid robots which can withstand the radioactive environment. Large components are machined from a single block. More than 95% of the block material is removed by computer controlled machinery producing a lightweight and extremely rigid exoskeleton.

These strong robots can wield the largest human-sized power tools and continuously pick up and place 140 kg (300 lbs.) loads.
